I thought it looked European, too. With the roll cage visible in it, and the supercharged inliner, it should run like the French. I like it. Brad
Wild. The long wheelbase isn't doing it any favors, but otherwise it's awesome. Dig the exhaust. Some of his stuff is a little over-the-top but it pushes things in different directions and as has been mentioned already in this thread, the execution is remarkable. Cris
B***, This is J.R. in Waco, Just thought I would drop a line. Send me some pics of your Hemi, Rat Rod. See Ya
There is a similar car to that in Indy from last year, although it has wheel wells. It was at the pileup this year too. I don't have a pic though. I like my buddy Russ's (the Cisco Kid) Studebaker better though. ha ha ha
I don't get how they're gonna finish that Fleetline. I mean, sure, it'll be easy enough to narrow up a Fulton visor and clamp on all the mirrors and spotlights, but how are you going to mount the 15 bumper guards and full height fender skirts when the car doesn't have any fenders or bumpers? And that rear window is gonna be really tough to see out of once you get the gold plated club plaque in there. (Sorry, I'm hunting down all the ******** to build a '46 bomb and this thing threw me for a loop) Face it, there's gonna be a lot of post '34 cars being built as fenderless hot rods in the future, like it or not. I even tried it with an MG midget/25 Dodge cowl a couple years ago. Cisco Kid's Stude has to be my favorite, I can't wait to see it finished.
I like it and here's why. Some of Posies latest cars come across as being hot rods built from rare coach built cars (regardless of their true origin). In this case, he's taken a common car, sliced and diced it until it takes on that coach built look and then applied the hot rod touch to it. I might be wrong about this but if this car was garage built using a true coach built car to start with, one that originally came with a Deuce-esque grill, long wheelbase, narrow body, etc., and some one hot rodded it, I think that people would be more open to it. I feel that because Ken deliberately (I'm guessing) adds some awkward proportions and details to his otherwise incredible cars supports this "built from a rare coach built car" theory. I'm not saying that I wouldn't do things differently on it, but it sure has some inspiring elements to it.
An over the top car for sure. All that work and it looks like they ran out of money when it came time to put a nose on it......
I'm reminded of Charlie Card's(Honnest Hisself) sedan that he land speed raced in the '50's. It has a Citroen vibe to it. People probably won't agree on the end results of Fooses' P-32 when it is done, but, it is refreshing that these star builders are throwing some major curves at the general rodding populace.
Kind of looks like when some of these crazy European guys pull the fenders off of a Beetle, paint it flat black, install some pedestal-style headlights and call it a "Rat Rod". I have to admit. This thing is kind of cool, but I would have done a few things differently.
Very expensive old Renault. Like all things Posie, different for different sake, and doing ugly interpretations of old time Euro coachbuilding cues. Kinda, sorta, coulda been a champion but got Posieised.
His craftsmanship blows in comparison to other so called high dollar builders. He is one of the guys that organized the "drive 'em dirty" run where chosen car builders drive their cars to the SEMA show and display them dirty without cleaning them. I have it from a good source that his car wouldn't run and it was trailered..........His cars look like the result of what taking drugs in the 60's can do for you in the new millenium...His last long nosed roadster looks like something Liberace would drive if he was "above" ground.
Nice craftsmanship, really nice I'm sure. Put a set of 31.5 mudders on it, big *** lights on a bar attached to the roof and you would fit right on the sand doons. Theres an two cheeks for every seat, I'm not sure if mine would fit in that one. Just my 2cts.
I met him on Americruise back in 99 and have been freinds with him since...Actually he is quite a nice guy, too bad for you!!
He pulled his shiny **** right out in front of me in louisville after the give aways on sunday one year and then stopoed to shoot the **** with some guy. I got by him and missed him by a good inch and a half he turned white and got all pissed and ****.. I just laughed .. Dave
We made some wheels that we're supposed to go on this, I wonder where they are... We also made some for the guy from Dynamat for his 32 that is going on the Dirty driven thing. Here a picture of the wheels we made for the car. Jimmy McLean
