Well, i gottz this 48 chevy coupe laying in my backyard and im accualy considering bring it back to life. It belongs to my father, who has been trying to sell it for a while, but hasnt gottn any serious offers. It needs some work but with some TLC and a few bucks, i think i could bring it back to life as a Rat.. Everyone Pretty mutch knows im a Youngster with barly any cash in the bank so this would be the Ultimate HAMB Project. I fairly know some trads but im not a Pro, so its not going to be perfect, but it could be a Cool sled... Heres the problem, I talked to my Pop about this,, he still thinks im nuts(doesnt belive me), but the only thing he really wants is 500,, and not an affliation with this car...(since we got too many projects already) It has the fenders, grill-*missn 2 bars, decklid, decent floor , good frame except for the front cross-member/front suspension...It would definitly needs a Mustang 2 (cash i dont have) and a engine/trans... It has a 10 bolt posi , which is in good shape.. I thought a cool, low, choped ,beater, sled ON a BUDGET!! for a 17-18 yearold would deffinitly blow the other kids away. I do have a 41 choped ford, but from the looks of it, its not going to be driviable for atleast 3-4 years cause of the massive body work and the rest... and i need something that will be complete or running around next year at this time... Whould you guys consider donating time/parts to a Youngster this summer??? I thought since the new year is aproching i would shout out some ideas for a New Jersey HAMB chop this spring or summer...... Thanks for reading this worthless post steve
Also- the 48 was going to be my fathers start car untill we found a better body. This was the result-
i have seen your dads car around. i like the hood treatment. if the hamb chop happens ill be there to lend a hand. by the way a m2 front end is almost a drop in for that chassic just a slight trimming is needed. look for crown vicky or linc interior it fits good. get a nova or camaro rear from 67 77
sounds like a good idea, keep in mind a hamb chop isnt completly free you still need to come up with materails ect good luck chop it up tim
I think it would be pretty important that the car run and drive. What's the point of chopping a car that is going to just sit in the garage? One of the HAMB chop cars is in my town just rotting away! HINT HINT.....
Thanks for the compliment Vic.. Yea , thats why i picked out a M2 cause it fits the car perfectly... plus it looks awesome when completed .. I know about the materials needed, plus food and drinks for the crew...Ill have a motor and trans in her, before the chop... Well, i hope...
i have this basket case of a car well it's not mine it's my dad's and i was thinking I would look cool if i got somebody to chop it cuz my dad thinks i can't do it and my dad is a hot rodder and i already have a chopped car that is more complete but i can't do it i need a new car that maybe someone else can finish cuz my dad thinks i can't do it...and, and, and sorry kid but, get a fucking clue.
hahahahhaa. sorry but that's some funny shit. I shouldn't bbe allowed at the computer when I have a bottle of makers mark around.....

[/ QUOTE ] It was a good idea, which i guess you guys think is Bogus. Havn't you had some kind a dream as a kid? Yea its a basket case and i know im lucky as it is, with one project. Yea it would be cool if i got some HELP to chop it, but not for some one to complete the whole damn thing. Never said that, so buzz off.. I take everyones word and respect that, Do you?? steve-

steve the PROBLEM with the chevy is that you DONT have the chassis in order YET.. as someone else stated whats the sense of choppin something thats gonna just sit around? FOR THE RECORD I was interested in the car but every email I got from you said... well we want 500 plus a hundered cause its got a posi rear and plus a hundered cause the grille we have is.... seriously It appeared (in the photos I saw) that the rear was mounted on the original springs, that the mustang 2 was half installed with NO ANTIDIVE factored in and NO thought as to how it should be fit up.. IF YOU WANT TO DO THIS THING CHEAP.. put the stock front suspension back in it assemble the body and fix the rust.. and next time you try to sell it state a price and specify what it is that your including.. later sawzall
Yea, thats the cheep and best way. I thought i stated clearly it was 800 for all... Unless you didnt need that rear or the grill.(in that case it would be 500) If you were confused, its my fault and i appoligize. I thought since you never called, or answered your phone that you weren't interested any more.. Plus the long drive It was never going to lay around, i was planing on getting a reliable v6 with trans to use as a daily driver... Every project gotta start some where. I should get thing thing rolling around before I hit up the HAMB again... Sorry guys, just a quick idea, not fully thought out.
I had a really smart assed reply for you but it got lost between my brain and my fingers... Thanks for making me think about HAMBChop 2004, I'm gonna need to pick someone soon...
