Thanks, Dan. Those are 16" and curved spoke which the HAMB purists hate, but they are better than trailer wheels and tires! I just need to get rid of a bunch of stuff hanging around and free up some green. Never had much success on that. I have some 'dream' wheels picked out, but they are ~1800 for everything, then there would be tires, probably another grand. Pretty hefty rolling stock for a budget T with no paint or upholstery and a plastic windshield. Baby steps!
It’s looking good -no longer ugly- you’ve made a lot of progress, looking forward to future improvements. Money and time is the biggest roadblocks for most of us. Dan
Vern Matsushita C cab built by Dan Woods. I think it passes as a bucket. One of my all-time favorite cars.
Dan is post 65 on most of his stuff and I think he really had a great eye. Often more show than distance, but lots of them got driven and hard. I saw that an older thread on his work got moved over here. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/original-dan-woods-t-bucket.797122/ It would be great to have more of his stuff!
Found this for sale on FB. While there are a few things I would do different, it is pretty darn nice! Love the jag rear. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/533114962552946/
After the search thread, I decided to populate some more older thread links. Here's my 23 that I owned around 2012-13. Fun to bomb around the neighborhood, but pretty sketchy on the road.
I read old hot rod magazines when I crawl into bed each night, puts my brain in a happy place. I just finished this magazine last night and noticed, buried in the text, that Speedway and Kellison also offered round tube chassis like Dragmaster in 1967. Just an interesting piece of T bucket trivia.
Did you ever follow up with that round tube project in the CL thread? Wait, you found it @porkshop was going to go look. Now I gotta ask him... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...craigslist-cars.1256824/page-40#post-15417821
Seems I was pretty close on that straight VS slanted windshield post. I tend not to hang around restoration places, since that's not my thing. But they do have some solid info on finer points. Post is from a decade ago, so it would have taken a while to dig that deep. https://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/411944/470259.html?1408064986 another with pics and confusion! https://www.mtfca.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=23864 https://www.mtfca.com/model_t_encyclopedia/1921-25/ While the appearance of the Ford models did change with the introduction of the one-man top and sloping windshield in late 1922, the basic body structure did not, and all (open) cars of this period were quite similar. https://modeltfordfix.com/the-1923-model-t-ford/#more-3581 The 1923 Model year began on August 1, 1922. The cars Ford produced for the first month were unchanged from 1922. Open cars still had the vertical windshield, and the touring still came with the two man top. All cars had wooden firewalls. By September 1, the new “1923” touring and roadsters were coming off the line in Highland Park with their more modern looking slanted windshields.
