Yes. he's got some neat documentation of the process as well. It's one of my favorite cars. Too bad he's so far away, I'd love to pour over that thing.

  2. I'm even too far away for people in this country! Norfolk isn't on the way to anywhere...

Jeepsters aren't my cup of tea, but they meet the definition of phaeton.

What a great find! I can't wait to hear your plans and watch the build on the HAMB (hint, hint)

THanks Bonesy!!! I've got it pretty much built in my head and have a ton of parts for it so it's all really exciting. I have to build and sell that 5w body that I have before I can touch the tub so I am going to try as hard as I can to get that going.

I guess if you want to hear some plans, just look at your avatar. That's about the direction I'm going!!! Flathead with Denver Style heads, High Rise intake, Columbia, undropped axle, yadayadayada..... Stay tuned!

Here's mine, 36 two door built from a four door sedan. I know it's not genuine, but there isn't many left over here.

  12. In what world does parting out a beautiful car like this make sense??

To each his own and all that..but in this case I have to agree with Dean's comments. Why part out a '32 Phaeton? Once the body is gone and the drive train disposed of all you have left is a deuce frame, which is readily available for a whole lot less than the lost value of an original Phaeton frame.

Your car, if left intact, is worth a shit load of money. Apart, well...it's just parts.

I don't know what your ultimate plans for the car are and I guess it's really none of my business, but if your looking to build a car based on '32 components you should seriously consider starting with less valuable, readily available parts.

  14. Anyone who would part out such a rare beauty as that '32 Ford Phaeton could not possibly be a true car lover. As much as I love hot rods, I could never bring myself to obliterate such a rare and beautiful thing.

For what you could sell that car for you could buy all that you would desire to build what you want. Please don't do it!

This is my 1936 Willys Phaeton. This may be the only 36 Willys Austrailian Phaeton street rod;)

It's a fiberglass body I think I read. That makes more sense doesn't it?

Anyone that wants to buy it in it's entirety and preserve it ? You know what they say about opinions, they are like a.... Well now here's one that didn't make sense. The previous owner sold the pristine 3 window body that left the factory on this chassis and replaced it with a Wescott body shown here in 1986. So, if I choose to rebody it with an original one that's my business. //Everything is sold//

  19. Well, hell ... why didn't ya say so in the first place. We need to hunt down the previous owner, and chastise him. In the photos you posted, the car looked like a for real Phaeton.

Now, you're my hero. Whenever I visit Connecticut, I'll treat you to a beer! :)
