Hey guys, Relative newbie here again. Can you explain to me why a '57 Chevy, complete with fins, would be called a shoebox? I thought a true shoebox was a '49/50 Ford. Just curious.
The 49/50 fords were the original "shoebox",then it seemed anything with a big frontal area was refered to this way,after the introduction of pro mod drag cars.
Thanx, 29. Hmmm. Interesting. Kinda strange evolution, eh? If anything, I think the Fords earned the term from their squarish greenhouse and rear end, in particular; the front end, not so much. (But then I'm the design nut.) Ah well. As they say, usage is king....
