I got out from under a mountain of personal debt early in the year. It was a good feeling, while it lasted.

Well, it was not a great year. About 2 months ago my 10 yr old son was diagnosed wirh type 1 diabetes. We are dealing with it well now. I like what my son said, "I'm not sick, I just have diabetes".
This summer we got to go to Kelowna for 2 weeks and stay at a luxury house w/a pool. 80-90 degree weather, made good use of the pool.
In the fall we went to So Cal on a big family vacaction. We all had a great time.
I did not do a lot on my Acadian this year. I did enjoy driving it in the spring/summer. I do plan on re-painting the roof, putting some chrome pieces on the engine, etc. I hope to afford new whitewall tires and chrome wheels.
Overall, I guess '09 was not that bad. I got my family, friends, health, nice house, a good job.

2009- Got a job, traded a bagged mini-truck for a bagged 66 F-100, sold off a lot of projects I was never going to get around to finishing, spent more time with the people that matter in my life, shot some ads for a couple of companies.

I have never been this broke, but somehow the quality of life has gone up...

Overall 2009 was a financial bust, but it went a long way to showing me that money isn't everything.

I got a job just before the holidays hit and the city of Houston FINALLY settled on my accident. My car is better than it was, but it's still a lesson I didn't need to go through.

  12. Well thank's to two lovely lady's on the HAMB setting a great example, I finally got off my butt and made it to the Fathers day Roadster show at Pomona. I also made it to Speedweek at bonneville this year, it was amazing. I don't know why I waited so long, but made my year.

    Thanks, to the HAMB.

well, I DO have my priorities in order...

the house has been taking up a lot of time, though. but it's worth it. and this winter i will be able to float between it and the car, once i get everything home.

and marriage, let me tell you, can be hell or heaven on earth. i have had both, and i am quite blessed with this second chance. without her, i wouldn't have any of the other stuff either, house, shop, studio...she's where it begins and ends.

very good year for me...quite blessed.

    1) paid off all debt except house
    2) My band got Best band - worc magazine
    3) finished frame off resto on chevelle (2 year project) and got perfect score at chevelle show.
    4) finished restoration of donzi sweet 16 and rode the hell out of that boat.
    5) made a real nice trailer for said boat
    6) insulated, sheet rocked, and heated my garage
    7) Top sales engineer in company and industry (second time, first was in 2005)
    8) Started dating a 2 year crush in March - and still going great
    9) spent a good amount of windsheild time in the RPU.
    10) Connected with my old best friend after 7 years of absence

Very blessed. all the above took a lot of work....I see 2010 as being a very big challenge (work wise), but Im looking forward to another good year. Ive got my eye on another project, but am looking to purchase a house built in the 1700's with a barn in the next year or so, so a new project may not happen....

Wife had a baby on 12/17.

Bought a 3.23 SureGrip for $200, oh and it came with three other complete Mopar 8-3/4 rear ends. After I opened the SureGrip, I found out it was a Dana PowerLok style SureGrip.

Zeke- Lookin' good! That Chevie sure went to the right guy! Happy New Year!

It's a good year for me- I'm pickin' daisies instead of pushin' 'em up! Arthritis ain't so bad as it was- been off of concrete floors (retired) for two years; made the difference. Totaled the SteadyBreaker, bought another Lark, and looks like we're gonna put Steady back on the road. DaTinman is in a "new" shop in a good location, and things are lookin' good for him. My granddaughter will be driving too soon; Daughter in law will be cruising in a Falcon. Yeah, life is good!

A Happy and Prosperous New Year to all!

  29. After reading this, I may be the most boring guy alive. I've had good health, good friends, good family, put thousands of miles on the 32, and had many great visits with HAMB friends. Best wishes to everyone for the next year.
