I realized I never posted a tale to this thread. So here goes.

Since I don't have a "street rod". I always have to bum along with one of my friends. One of my old friends and fellow club members David Lewis ,has taken his 40 Ford for the last couple years and always has one of us ride down to the NATs with him.

This year he took the car down on wednesday and I followed along in my Saturn. Sad to say but the main goal this year was to find a new home for David's Ford so he could move on to the next project. We registered, took the car into the grounds, found a good parking spot on the rose circle and then went to check out what all was going on. After a while we headed back home in the Saturn. Thursday was a work day as David had to remove the hand controls from a truck he'd been trying to sell for awhile and I had a small trophy order to finish up.

So friday morning we're back on the fairgrounds and dusting off the car. I told David that I had a good feeling about selling his car since he had finally sold the truck. David wasn't getting his hopes up though. After I took off for the HAMB meet and greet, I called Dave up and we decided to meet in front of the south wing and check out some of the vendors. We hadn't been in there long when David got a call from a woman who wanted to talk to him about the car. We made our way back out front and I left David to do his dealing. I ambled off and took some video and pictures, meet up with Boones as he was checking out Skipstitch's dad's truck and car. After awhile I went back to the 40 and seen that David was by himself. The potential buyer had made an offer and had gone away to give Dave time to think about it. David had been wanting 42K for his ride and the offer was close, after some thought we called the couple and they came back to make the deal. As the husband counted the money out on the trunk floor , he turned and noticed me video taping him. I just smiled and said " It's not that I don't trust you, but when it comes to this much money. I don't trust anyone." He laughed and kept counting. After the paper work was signed we drove the car over to the tent at the end of the south wing where all the Anglias are parked and for a second time that week , Dave had to remove a set of hand controls.

After that, we felt like a weight was lifted from our shoulders and that we could enjoy the weekend more. The next couple days are still a blur. I did push Dave into spending some money on a wiring harness for his next project, a 38 Chevy Coupe. I bought a set of engine mounts for my 51 from Chassis Engineering.

The high lights of my weekend were hanging out and talking to my brothers and sisters from the HAMB. They have got to be some of the best people I've gotten to meet since I started going to these shows.
