Here is apicture of a poster from the 1998 Gas Up in Buelton, Ca. It has signatures from quite a few land speed and early drag races that are now unfortunately gone now.

    Hey @cheap-n-dirty
That is one very cool piece of history.
I was fortunate enough, to be invited to attend the "Gas Up" a number of years ago.
Here are a few shots from that year.
Thanks from Dennis, for sharing that poster.

Many years ago I got a phone call from my dear friend Bill Taylor asking me if I would accept his award of being inducted into the Dry Lakes Hall of Fame. He had retired and relocated to Minnesota. His wife was quite ill and he was unable to be at Buelton to accept. I had never attended because it was an invitation only affair. I jumped at the chance to go on behalf of Bill. Mendenhall's place is like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, and Six Flags of dry lakes racing all rolled into one! Everyone of land speed racing was there! The amout and expance of memorabilia is mind boggling! What an awesome honor to be there! Since my name was now on the list, I was invited back every time until Covid ruined everything. If you ever get the opportunity to attend DO NOT turn it dow it is dry lakes sensory overload at its finest! Sadly, Bill passed away a few years ago, but I am eternally grateful for him allowing me the opportunity to be part of an incredible ceremony and place!
