I'm raising the bar and posting some before it BEGINS !!!!! HA! take that. Making its debut at Billetproof Texas, the first time this car has seen the light of day in 40 years! Found in a warehouse in Galveston where it say UNDERWATER in sea water after the hurricane... but the saving grace was that there was 3000 gallons of desiel and lots of barrels of tar in the warehouse as well that coated the car with a black petroleum layer that kept it safe from the ravages of the sea water. Its been put back together, got a few new parts to make it go and will be on display at Billetproof Texas this weekend. VERY cool.
Hey! How the hell did you beat me to it? I just got back to my shop from setting up. 3 words.... SHADE SURVIVOR and DRUNK COWBOY (ok, that's 2 words...haha) Now off to check out the motel action! Marcy
I'll post a bunch more later---love the running board covers the guy's grandma made and the crazy 2 ball flat tow hitch permently mounted to the front. Dash tags from the early through mid 60's. Cool! Marcy
That's pretty damned cool. Some people 'say' that their car is a survivor, but that one really is! It survived a hurricane and a flooded warehouse, not just a barn and some owl poop. Can't wait to see it in person tomorrow.
The place looks like a nice venue for the event. And that car...oh....oh.....oops. See ya'll tomorrow.
Hey Marcy, Yer such a tease, postin' peekchures and runnin' off like that! And i don't recall Texas cryin' and standin' around with its' hand out for Fed money when it got hit with a hurricane, no way in hell! S****ey Devils c.C. The car was great, and the current owners appreciate its history. They've been in contact with the original builder/owner and are researching its full history. They get it. some other cool storys about the car... the original builders grandmother did the uphostery and made the snap on carpet running board covers. It looks great even today. Cl***ic stuff. The ladder bars on the back run all the way up to the front of the doors and are pre-loaded to the hilt. great car and thanks for bringing it out Pee-Wee!!!
