    Hi everybody,

I see that we have a lot of people wondering how to post pix in threads- it is different than on the main board. Follow these simple steps and you should be on yer way. I use Imageshack, but you can use any imagesharing site.

    1. Google "Imageshack" and you will be directed to the site.

    2. Once on the site, you want to upload photos from your computer. Click on the "browse" tab and locate the pic you want to use.

    3. Double-click the file or click on "Start upload" tab. Your image will then be uploaded to the site.

    4. Next, scroll down to the "Hotlinks for forums 1" box and copy the info in the box.

    5. Head to the HAMB- when you are adding your post, and you want your pic in there, simply paste what you copied from Imageshack into your message.

    6. Click "Post" and yer done.

It is strange that posting pics in threads is a different process than on the main board, but that's just how the site was set up. You'll find that this is a very easy process. If you have any questions on the process feel free to send me a pm and I'll get you hooked up.

    HAMB ON!

    Thanks, Scott!

BTW: Is there a "hand sign" for "HAMB ON!"? There should be.

I don't understand the problem??? Am I missing something? I just copy and paste the BB code from my album in my Personal Profile to here.

As I understand it, accessing album photos is done as you suggest, but photos from other sources need to be done by another method. I'm certainly not an expert...that's why I rely on others who know more about it than I do, and p*** what I've learned on to others whenever the opportunity arises. :)

I see what your saying. I upload "photos from other sources" to my album by way of my desktop, then copy and paste the code here. I have had problems with pictures disappearing from Photobucket, which then makes them no longer available for our thread.

I do it the same way whether to the thread or the Main Board.

By the way, I have a Mac so it may be different...

It may be different for Macs-not sure. By the way, screw photobucket- use Imageshack. I have never had any images removed. If you keep pics in your library, you should always be able to "re" upload to an image sharing website (you probably already know that).

Update on using Imageshack to post pix here:

Imageshack has changed the layout on their homepage a little bit, so here is the only change that you need to be aware of...
After uploading your picture, copy the text in the "Forum Code" box. Then paste it into the message that you want to post on the HAMB, click on "post message", and yer off to the races.

Again, if you need any help just give me a holler.

I've had pretty good success with Photobucket. Just gotta be careful not to delete or move pics to other albums after you've linked them to a story or thread etc - that's one way to "lose" pics.

And I've had a few problems downloading pics using their download ****on. I resolved by attaching and sending the pics to Photobucket from my Gmail address - it works much better and is quicker.

This works easier if you have HAMB and Image Shack open at the same time. Not necessary but easier to visualize what you are doing.

If you are having trouble with copying "hotlinks to forums" try placing the arrow in the lower left hand corner of the text box and click. This will cause all the copy in the box to be highlighted blue, even the text you cannot see.

Then go to "edit" on your ****on bar and click "copy".

Then go to your HAMB message window and position the curser where in the text you want the photo to appear. Then go up to your "edit" ****on bar and click "paste".

The highlighted text from Image Shack should appear where your curser was positioned. You can then post the message or, if you have gone "Advanced" you can click "preview" to see the photo and text as it will appear.

Sounds very complicated, but once you've done it a time or two it becomes easy.

Don't hesitate to ask for more help if you still can't get it to work.

    :)

Chopperbilly, that confused me at first too- that's just how it works. If there are any issues you can always hit the edit ****on and start over.
