I want to spray powder coat down a tube? The idea is to take a motorcycle gas tank and drill holes in a v-shaped pattern down the top of the tank thru the bottom of the tank so you can see thru to the ground when sitting on the bike? Clear as mud?

Obviously I cant spray paint thru the tubes, but how about taping off the whole tank and spraying powder coat down the tubes? I want to use 3/8 tubing? Anyone got any better ideas?
Then the rest of the tank could be painted.

  2. From my experience with bicycles powder is hard to "wrap" around. I think a good coater could get it down a tube, 3/8ths...I dunno?

glen, a easy solution to your problem is this. once your tank is charged put your finger at the bottom of the hole fill it to the top with powder coat, then remove your finger letting the excess fall into a jar or container then move to the next one. the powdercoat will stick to the sides of the tube and be covered all the way down. remember you can do more than one coat if needed.

If you get it on too heavy, powder coat will run just like regular paint.
