I'm looking for a good power antenna to install in the rear quarter of the 32 Ford coupe I'm currently building. Suggestions appreciated. Not interested in Frenching it in but flush might be nice if it's watertight. View attachment 5791479

  2. Your car but why? A plain old antenna will work just fine. Only up a few inches. My opinion only

  3. Look for one from an OT Lincoln MKVII. They were rear quarter mounted and pretty compact.

I’m getting rid of mine, no good radio stations any more. I think it’s similar to the one pictured below. Worked well. I’m going to a Bluetooth speaker instead. IMG_5869.png

Hate to say it but, Mazda Miata has a compact, top of rear fender deal. I have two ('99 & '01), they look like this:

They go the whole FM 31" tall. Masts are cheap, motors are spendy. I'd pull one from a yard. Mike

I bought one of the generic ones off eBay. It goes up and down, picks up stations like it should. Had to fill the hole with something, why not make it more attractive than just a stick sticking up.

On all my pickups in my youth I put a normal antenna under the running board. My 56, when I bought it, had a radio that didn’t work and no antenna and I wouldn’t drill a hole. I put it under the passenger door. Works great on am-fm but I usually listen to Sirius radio oldies…

A discussion about power antennas on a traditional hot rod forum? I think not
