I came across a product in the Summit catalog that says it "eliminates cylinder washdown and excessive wear. A 16oz bottle treats 55 gals of alcohol." Could this be used in gasoline to prevent cylider washdown in conjunction with flame throwers? As an added bonus, it even comes in three different scents.
Alcohol washdown is when lubrication is removed from the rings and it tears em up. Gasoline washdown's big concern is pushing gas past the rings, polluting the oil. Damage to the rings is a lesser concern because gas is a better lubricant than alcohol. So even though they both being called washdowns, the additive addresses an alcohol-only concern. Does Pella's square still cruise on sundays?
