I was wondering if the power steering fluid has a drain plug or do you have to have a pump that ****s out the old fluid. I have the manual for my 53. It doesnt say how to change the fluid. So how do you change out the old fluid?

I'm not an expert on '53s, but power steering was not offered on '52s. And, I can't see a power steering pump on the photo of your engine. Are you sure you've got power steering?

Sorry, I'm wrong. Apparently power steering was offered on Ford p***enger cars for the first time in 1953.

I found a manual on servicing '53 power steering on eBay. Item #370230647000. $9.95 Buy-it-now. Probably have your answer...and will keep smart mouth guys like me quiet...maybe!

    Sorry for the confusion!

I've got a '53, and man, my arms WISH I had power steering on mine! I think that it was a limited deal for the first year. If you have it, you're a lucky dog!
