    Hey guys,
I just replaced my power steering pump and can't seem to get rid of the moaning noise it makes when you turn the wheel.

I had it up on stands and turned it back and forth a dozen times or so while checking the level but I still can't get rid of it.

I assume it's air in the line. Is there any other ways to get it out?

sometimes it takes a while for all of the air to work its way out of the fluid. Dont take the cap off of the reservoir for a while. The air in the fluid can make it burp all over the place.

Sometimes they can be a pain in the ass to fully bleed. Best bet is to drive it for a while and then check the fluid. If it still makes noise try turning the wheel a dozen times again. Hope you get it blead.

Is the oil foamy? Try to keep from turning it all the way to the stops and the air will mix less with the oil.

Been driving it for a couple of weeks now and it won't go away. Fluid doesn't look "foamy" but it certainly isn't as clear as I would expect...

If its a rebuilt Ford pump.It may take some time before the noise goes away.I have actually seen a tag attached to them stating that.

  9. You need to apply a vacum to the reservoir, i use a vacuum line off the engine and a rubber stopper with a hole in it. Apply the stopper to the reservoir and it will make a suction on the reservoir and bring the air to the top. If this doesnt work you may have air getting in the system somewhere. Pm if u have any ?s Also be careful not to suck power steering fluid in the engine, you can do it with any vacuum pump, power brake bleeder, what have you
