    Oxy*****.

I've always found that if I use cheap parts in a high performance application, I end up replacing them later --------- along with the high dollar stuff they take out with them when they go.

    Theres a point...
But it will be rebuild and high performance parts inside..

My main question was if the vega pg has the same parts inside like a regular pg. The differents i have heard is the gear ratio and no oil cool lines.

I want to build a high performance ****** of this, if its possible

My old T roadster had a very hot 283 punched to 292 and a solid lifter cam with single 4bbl. The trans was an air-cooled PowerGlide which the builder of the car told me was done with all late model V8 internals. It survived several mis-shifts into reverse at speed and is waiitng for a new engine.

Bottom line; use an "Ultrabell" type of bellhousing, update to a steel hub, and increase the direct clutch count; for your application, the 1.82 first gear planetary will be fine, even if used with a trans-brake. If you're not using a trans-brake, then use a shift kit; a Trans-Go kit comes with a "spacer" to make the valve body a full manual shift. Use whatever torque converter gets your engine into it's power band. Butch/56sedandelivery.

Does your trans have a vacuum modulator? If it does it should be a true PowerGlide and upshift automatically. If there's no modulator then it's probably a TorqueDrive and will be manually upshifted, in which case the vacuum modulator wasn't needed.
