powerglide

    Hi guys im accross the pond in the uk i have a 1951 chevy 3100 pick up with a 216 inline 6 my 3 speed manual gearbox has locked up and i cant see why ,i have been offered a 1960 cast iron powerglide out of my friends 60 impala which had an adapter plate to a 283 v8.i have 1955 chevy rear axle to fit aswell,what i need too know is will the powerglide bolt straight onto my engine(do i remove the truck bell housing and do i have to use the adapter plate from the v8)also will it be ok with just the front engine mounts and the rear gearbox mount or will i have to make a new rear engine mount aswell.
