I am looking to upgrade to a high output 140A alternator with good output at idle for a Ford 302W and came across these guys on fleabay. I do not want a one wire. Does anybody have any experience of them - issues, reliability, reputation?

I seem to get mixed reports about Powermaster and have had problems in the past with Tuff Stuff. I am open to suggestions....

I just bought a 100 amp Powermaster (12SI) for a future project and like the quality, inside and out. ( I pulled it apart to re-clock) Several models, including mine, have a special regulator that allows one or three wire (my choice also) operation. Add the fact they're made close by in IL. :)

I've used them and they seem to be fine. Nothing that jumps out at me about them, they kept the battery charged and seemed to last well. I guess that is all you can ask of an alternator. :)
