Someone dropped off a steering box in my garage that as far as I can tell is a 73 Camaro integral power steering box.Casting number is 7826692.Have any of you used a similar box on a 58 Chev.....I want to get away from the stock ram system.Any input re pros or cons on using this box would be appreciated.Is this a variable ratio box,and how do I determind if it is?
The one that all the 58-64 Chevy P/S conversions use is the "605" box, which I think is not the same as your Camaro box. You could make the Camaro box work with enough effort, time and money anything is possible.
