These are fresh from the field. I found them today. 1867 shield nickel, 1904 Indian head penny and a bonus New York staff officer's cuff size button.
I watched a video on the coin channel this morning... The guy went through 2 rolls of Indian head pennies that dated from 1880 to about 1906... That was a pretty cool video...
Here's 3 rather non-descript looking , worn 1916 Mercury dimes...BUT... they are all from the Denver Mint (D's)...you coin collectors out there will appreciate the significance.
I'm really partial to gold and silver...here's a sample of some of my 90% silver (pre 1965) collection. !946-1964 Roosevelt Dimes. 1916-1945 Mercury Dimes. 1932-1964 Washington Quarters. 1948-1963 Franklin Half Dollars. 1916-1947 Walking Liberty Half Dollars.
I thought Mercury dimes were the most fantastic, exotic coin when I was a kid (didn't have them up here, of course). I can't understand how such a beautiful coin got replaced by that newer design. Well I guess I know why they got rid of the fasces.
You guys have inspired me to dig out the pile of coins and bills I have. But know very little about! Pics soon.
Very bright green on the back. 1934 $20 bill received in a paycheck when I was 18. Kept it all these years. The '50s stuff I collected later.
Yep, that's our dear departed Princess Elizabeth, aged 8, I think. They made those notes in separate English and French versions.
^^^ One of the WWII shell case pennies. There were made from recycled shell casings from 1944 to through 1946. I wonder who was picking them up when they were spent.
