Anyone care to comment on the ability of a 5’11” 240 pound big boy fitting in an enclosed pre-war Ford pickup cab. How much do they differ in size by year. Been looking at pictures of a 1930 Ford (no chop/no channel) but have not sat in one. Looks like it would be very tight if not impossible to fit in comfortably.

I am 5'9" 270 and I fit my 33 ford pickup good with the stock seat and a shorter column. You can trim the seat down and make the back fully flat to get a little more room. The model A cabs are the smallest of the pre war pickups in terms of Ford. Fords gradually get bigger over each revision. 32-34 (33-34 have more leg room due to revised firewall), 35-37, 38/39 and 40/41. I know the International pickups had alot of more room in the cab. Not sure about a Chevy truck, never sat in one.

You may have run across this old post.
    I’m 6’2 and 220. Very comfortable in my 34.

Here’s some info from a previous thread.

I’ve added some pictures for clarification.
    Please excuse the rough drawing.
A lot of the dimensions were taken from the door and floor opening edge.
Let me know if you need any others.
I believe the seat is the second or third seat from a 60’s van based on the tubing frame underneath. PJ

I'm 6'3" and 240 pounds and drove a 30 Ford pickup as a daily driver for years and it was a little tough getting in and out but that was mostly due to the size of 14EE shoes. I still have two Model A's, one stocker and a flatheadV8 A and my big feet are the worse problem I have.

I'm 6'1 and 247 (I was 6'2" and 290 last September, (how the hell does a diet and workout routine make you shorter?o_O), my wife is a s***y 5'3". We both have to fit behind the Crestliner in the '41 (prewar by a few months) with no slider on the seat. I used a tilt column  to accommodate the two of us and I set the pedal height down the middle. I did not chop the lid. The lower the top, the lower the pedestal and your leg room disappears proportionately. At 5'11" keep your seat pedestal proud and the seat back as thin as possible.
