Al Gore would make a great hood ornament and the blood red scallops would be a plus. (Fuckin douche!)

I see custom vans coming back on the scene, that's cool cause that is the tow vehicle for my vintage drag car project!,

The gasser thing is getting out of control, just using the wrong cars and not thinking about function,

Unsafe rat shit needs to go away!

I expected to see more tribute cars of gassers from back in the long ago...........................

I can seriously see nascar-esque cars becoming a trend, led by Barry White jumping up and down on TLC stating he started the whole trend with his "Cougar". Daddy Warbucks will buy into it and snap up the overlooked '60's -70's models to clone the forgotten true heroes of that sport like David Pearson, Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison, further driving the price of those cars to unobtainium status to match their true muscle counterparts (well maybe not quite that far, but a $500 parts car will now cost you $5,000). Hot Rod will run wild with how-to's on side exhaust mods, hood pins and fender flaring for the street, spawning a whole new group of magazines for posers to buy. Vintage race jackets and faceless helmets with goggles will be all the rage, as will greasy trucker hats and large, shiny belt buckles.

In the midst of it all, the lowly rat rod will be set to the side and all those parts will become available again. Can't you just hear it? Sounds like the Lion King song...."The circle of life....."

To sum up my prediction, Rat Rod matireal will become scarce, muscle cars will become expensive, Smoggers and Parts cars will become "Street Rods" and "Track Rods".

Pub decides to not be trendy and not comment on being trendy.

This is where I disagree... I don't think hot rodding is about performance OVER looks... I think it's about that perfect balance of performance AND aesthetic style.

I dream of building and racing an early Trans-Am racer..early Barracuda, Javelin, Studebaker, Chevy II or Falcon, or go all the way and build a 49 Olds coupe for Trans Am racing, yeah thats it!..and having it streetable of course..is that starting a trend?

The High school I work at just got a powerstroke diesel out of an ambulance. They have already started swapping it into a 66 mustang and running it in the local 8'th mile drags. the cr wil run off of Biodiesel or vegtable oil. Pretty trick stuff and all from donations.
