My model A frame has some dents after sandblasting and cleaning. I want a good looking clean frame so how can I fill the dents, is lead a good idea? Is there a special kind of paint or can I use the same paint as the body? I know trucks has a special chassis paint.

I'd shoot it with an epoxy sealer (DP) and then use a high-quality body filler on the dents (Rage Gold). Then shoot it with some high build primer and paint over that.

That should net some pretty slick results.

Is Rage Gold more flexible than, say, Bondo?

More flexible? Not that I'm aware of but it is a much better filler. It won't stain whatever is sprayed over it and sands like 80 grit through drywall spackling (compared to Bondo which sands like 400 grit through concrete).

When I worked for BC we did every chassis this way. None ever cracked, peeled, flaked, or gave any other problems.

If'n you want a slick frame do like Harrison just told 'ya. The epoxy sealer will seal the frame and the high build primer will take care of any small imperfections you happen to miss. Never used the Rage Gold filler before but it sounds like a good product....I'll try it next time. Good luck.
