Event Coverage Prepping for 5016 miles - 17 DAY ROAD TRIP: NorCal to Indy Goodguys in a '58 T-Bird

I can still remember our first big road trip in our old 55 Chevy. We headed out to GG Pomona from Republic MO and had never been over a hundred miles from home in it. That was my first time meeting Gary. I think I had damned near enough spare parts with me to overhaul the car. Only had one issue. The ground came loose on the fuel pump in New Mexico. Oh yeah, we drug a hole in a muffler in Phoenix. Got that fixed when we got there. It will be fun. When are you going to be at Starbirds? Might try to swing over. It is only 100 miles or so from where I live. Take care and good luck.

i worked for a "big" tire dealer for a while the manager allways said get the car in the air and the tires off and its OURS .....sell sell sell ....

id have a hard time taking my squarebird into a tire and lube shop well, i wouldnt couldnt and wont

but ya gotta do what ya gotta do

KIRK! Just head to to Indy and I will switch with you if you have "concerns." You take my '55 to Cali and I will drive the "bird" to Chitown. We can then figure shit out!

Kirk, you and everybody have a safe and fun trip. I just found this post, looking forward to seeing all the road trip cars, leave all the bugs on them it will make them easyer to find.

I have to teach Monday evening, so I am going to jump in the car after class is over and drive from Indy to Des Moines to meet up with you guys Tuesday morning. Hopefully I can get a couple hours sleep when I get to Des Moines.
