Technical pressure plate surface?

    that is not my job. I need to be proactive to a break down. fix it before it breaks. the 70+ cars I maintain must be ready and reliable, I was just trying to stay ahead of it.

    yes and it was new and had a nice coating of grease on the collar.

    thanks I will keep that in mind.

    original clutch was not working any different before or after adjustment, it just grabbed at a lower point.

    I really think it just needs to be put back in and burned in.

    It's possible to resurface an ***embled diaphragm type pressure plate in a lathe with a grinding attachment, because it takes a lot of force to move the plate, more so than one applies with the grinder. Make sure to cover the lathe ways!

    I replaced motor mounts in a car recently. All three mounts were Anchor brand. Two were made in China, one in India. They looked crude, and the engine was nice and firm for about a week before the motor mounts became as loose as the thirty year old ones removed.

  5. I just bought a new Luk clutch and pressure plate, and not only does it look smooth and shiny, like all the other clutches I have ever changed, but they get good reviews.
    Running that, would not hurt anything, but I wouldn't run it.
