I have been wanting to do something but the funding and the area to do it is not there. Now here is my idea...... We all love old cars around the nation and the world. It would be cool to have a place for all of us to meet... Yes I know there is car shows and other sorts of small town cruises and that but wouldn't be cool to have a town from the 30s 40s 50s and 60s. Like have old buildings like diners and gas stations and other buildings along the way to resemble what it was like back in the old days that we could go and hang out and have a Hamb get together. Its been in my mind a lot since I have joined the hamb. The bikes have it at Sturgis and the stock cars have a place to go in Charlotte and well we should have a place to go and make it a National place to get together. Just a thought dont know where to start on rolling with the idea but it would be cool.
Tha HAMB drags in Joplin, in August, are prolly the closest thing to a national gathering of HAMBers...the other venue is the Lone Star Round-up in Austin, Texas... Problem is, where ever it's held, you need to have motels and restaurants, filling stations and parking lots (fairgrounds...???) to hold several hundred cars/people...an old abandoned small town out of the 50's/'60's wouldn't do... R-
why not Detroit? theres a bunch of abandoned industrial building and its like we would be taking our cars home again after all they were born there. or maybe something like the hot rod power tour but for HAMBers
