Im telling ya, if you ever need to take ANYTHING off your metal, rust, bondo, epoxy go to this website and click on strip it discs. You will need to buy the tool and a few discs, but it is the best tool I have ever used. I am stripping my 55 Pontiac down to bare metal and this tool is a lifesaver. Just watch your fingers, part of my finger is still growing back from getting too close.

  3. Thats it! I only bought a purple disc and a black one to do my entire car. I am more than half way done on the passenger side and the purple disc has more than 75% life left.

  4. They arent exclusive to Sunchaser. They are 3M products. Even Eastwood now stocks them, I get em locally.

Oh, so you brush paint the exterior of your car? Which BTW is the thread subject. Why doesnt that surprise me?
BTW, I used to be a POR dealer before they changed the formula to the crap they are selling now. Many other dealers bailed out also.

It cures a lot harder than regular paint but it can be DA'ed off. If it hasnt been on forever you can use regular automotive paint remover, lacquer thinner or acetone. It can be recoated with more ZR or just about any other automotive finish, just scuff it and shoot.

  8. The purple one is VERY COURSE, we only use it on edge for tight areas and areas that have lots of pitting.

90% of the time, the black ones are what we use.

Whoah now!!! don't mention my name in the same breath as "tack welds covered with bondo" - don't want people to misconscrew!!

Thomas, I'm really glad to see your car in the hands of someone who's willing to take it down to bare metal and do it up right. Looks like they're giving good attention to details.

    It's gonna be killer!

Cleatus, with all the suprises we encountered with the bondo/tack chop, we had to take everything down to bare metal to find more surprises if any. Its a long process, and in the long run, the car is going to look great IMO.
