Paint. Why put all that work into a car and not paint it?

Prime it black, then knock the windows out with a ball-peen. Then get a bunch of 1/4" redi-rod, and weld it over the window openings in spider-web patterns & paint the redi-rod with red tremclad. STYLIN!

IMO a good paint job adds a lot of WOW value to a custom.

Actually, it could just be the photo, but it looks like that thing needs a little more time with the long board. Maybe thats why its still in primer...

    ^^What he says^^

My first impression was it still needed body work... a lot of it.

  9. paint. all the way. i didn't live back in the fifties, but i'm pretty confident that the car guys back then would have given anything to get their hotrods/customs into a nice bath of lacquer rather than rolling up to the drive-in with their primered "in-progress" specials.

X2. I was being polite. That thing has more lumps and bumps than a sack of hockey pucks.

  11. I forget the guys name....Jeff maybe....can't remember. But he has a Chopped flat red Merc. It's BAD *** in suede. It was the last chop that **** Dean did. I'm sure someone will chime in and hopefully post a pic. If you painted it like that as a primer that'd be pretty nice for a while till you could afford to paint it.

Primer it and throw a quikie paint job on it to prevent rust. You can always sand it down and refinish it properly when you get more money.
A gallon of paint will only cost $100 , grief, if you don't, is much more.
I had a customer that only wanted primmer for now. I talked him into painting it with several colors of left over paint mixed together and he loved it. Its been sitting out in the weather now for a year while "he is getting arount to finish it"
