I just bought an unassembled truck bed. The sheetmetal is paint grip metal. Can you apply dp90 over this type of surface. Any particular surface prep prior to applying the dp90. Thanks, Mel

Wash it well with a good wax and grease remover, if it is a rough surface care should be taken as to the rag or towel you use..lint free is best. DP will stick to almost anything !! Be aware that it should be topcoated soon within ( 12 hrs )for best adhesion after that it MUST be resanded or scotchbright scuffed to give some "tooth " for the topcoat to bite to. Another option is self etching primer, or DTM DTAM direct to metal 2 part sandable primer. DP is hard to resand later and is listed as nonsanding primer.

Ditto : DP can be used under and over any body repairs when used as a sealer coat.

I was recently surfing a painters forumn and a guy was showing pic's of rusty finger prints UNDER the black Ecoat... Some at the factory must not care but I sure would. I'll strip any panels I use from now on, if it's something I care about.

x2!! NEVER trust someone else's paint prep! You don't wanna find out all's not well beneith your top coat when you've got 2k worth of labor & 1k in materials, and the job starts to lift or spot some months later:mad:
