Technical pro comp

    Help needed, I have a pro comp magneto style HEI Distributor with a red wire and a black wire I think the red wire goes to a switched 12v source does the black wire go to the tacho or to a earth. if th black wire goes to a earth how do I wire up the tacho ? Any help would be much appreciated thanks mark.
     
  2. best thing to do with anything made by pro-**** is to s**** it......

    however I found this which may be helpful.

    Thanks for the info, but my dizzy is the ready to run magneto type witch does not need a coil its just got two wires. I have read all the horror stories about the pro comp stuff, but I am stuck with what I have got at the moment. so I am just trying to sort out the wiring for know.

    The red wire is positive 12 volt and the black wire is for the tach. I have one too. ****.

    Thanks ****. so does that mean there is no earth then ?

    Yes. It grounds through the body of the distributor.
