I've fitted an instrument cluster from a 1929 Marmon to my Model-T which has a Stewart Warner speedometer.
My problem is that when I fit a Model-A speedo cable to it, it doesn't engage. It appears that the female drive inside the speedo is larger than the 4 sided drive on the cable.
Is there an adapter for this or another cable I can use which will still engage on the turtle on my Model-A rear axle?
I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who's overcome this hurdle before.
    Thanks

I think the Model A square is a .104 the Marmon may be .124. Measure the internal square size on the Marmon speedo to make sure I am correct. If it is a .124 square I can make you a new inner cable with the .124 square if you give me an over all length of the Model a cable. Or you can find a speedo shop local to you that can do the same.
    Hope this helps.

Sounds good. But the drive is so deep in the tach I don't know how to measure it. Any ideas?

If your current cable square is
.104 and spins in the drive is would think that it would be a .124 square. Maybe you could find a speedometer shop in your area and see if they have a drive tip with a larger square and see if it fits .

I found an old Model-A Ford cable and it fits. It's 0.124. So thanks for the help. I guess my replacement cable was the problem.
    Thanks
