    Hi!

I have a ´48 Plymouth with a straight 6 in it that I´m planning to restore, the problem is that I´m not 100% sure of what year the motor´s from. I have located the motor ID number on the block but then I got stucked, can someone help me get further?

If the number stamped on the block begins with P15 and matches your title you have the correct 1948 engine for your car. If the number begins with P17, P18, P22 etc. it is a later version of the same engine.

If the number stamped in the block begins with D24 or any D number, it is the larger Dodge engine which has a longer stroke than the Plymouth engines.

The number that is stamped on the block is P25*40683*
I know my location says "phoenix, az" but actully I´m from Sweden so I dont have the same title on the car that you have in the US.

P25 would pout that engine into the mid-late 50s.
