Problems with advanced search on a mac

I can't use the advanced search anymore on any mac. Suspect Java issue? I get messages like this:

no such filter attribute 'replycount'

index jalForumThread,jalForumThreadDelta: sort-by attribute 'replycount' not found

index jalForumThread,jalForumThreadDelta: sort-by attribute 'dateline' not found

etc...

the lazy search flyout menu still works

Any ideas or fixes?

Within the last couple weeks there has been some warnings of potential security issues with Java. Here's a link to some info about it and instructions on disabling Java in various browsers.

I've disable Java in both Firefox and IE and have yet to notice any difference in the functionality of either browser.
