I'v gotten tib bits hre and there on Moon and the problems folks have had with them. I'm looking at steering wheel they have but I don't want to go through a bunch of b.s with them. I did a search on here but did'nt come up much.......any horror stories? Thanks
fuck mooneyes. I ordered a steering wheel and had to deal with alot of bullshit. took waaay longer than it was supposed to, the one I wanted was out of stock and they weren't evne gonna call me and tell me. THey were just gonna let me hang for like 6 weeks until they got another shipment in. I ended up getting a different wheel but it took for damn ever anyway and they screwed up the billing and charged my mom's credit card instead of mine cos they still had it on file from 2 years ago when she ordered me a rat fink hat for christmas! they pulled up her card and used it since they keep records by phone number and we had the same one. Speedway and nightprowlers will get all my business from now on, they're cheaper and fast about shipping.
I've never had a problem with them. I bought some things from them at Paso that they didn't have with them, and they sent it out on the following monday. I had it by the middle of the week. I've also ordered from them over the phone with no problems. Dean
Would never buy from them again. I waited over a year and nothing. never did say they were never going to get the item. just left he hanging.
shit was fucked up there for a while, but it seems to be better now... seems that they have most shit in stock now. it used to be the worst. they never had shit in stock but ball-milled flamed billet aircleaners and astro van pedal covers.
It took way too long to get what I ordered. The reason being the item was not in stock and I had specifically asked if it was. They lied to me and I don't put up with that bullshit ! Oh, yeah...they shipped the wrong item the first time....
I bought some acrylic dash knobs at a Goodguys event from Moon. They didn't have the number I needed with them so they said if I paid for the whole lot they'd drop the rest I needed in the mail when they got back home. Couple months passed, nothing. Called they were out of stock. Called again a month latter, they were comming in soon. Called another month latter they had come in but they were filling NEW ORDERS FOR THEM, NOT BACK ORDERS! Seems it never occured to anyone to check for back orders. They acctually suggested I wait for the next shipment to come in for my knobs. After I blew my stack they reluctantly agreed to send me the items I had already paid for. I'd stick to cash and carry. They have strange business practices. Oh I forgot to say this was a few years ago and perhaps things have improved, I hope.
I don't understand, an organization like that with the cache' of it's name at stake should have SOMEBODY who is a purchasing professional. For God's sake, there are probably thousands in the metro LA area alone that could handle their volume. It just isn't that hard to run trends to see which products need to be ordered, their lead times, availability... Moon is a six sigma PIP waiting to happen. Very unprofessional.
I've done ok with Moon. Perhaps bacause I was ordering race car stuff and it was in stock. Regardless, Moon ought to get it together, they're not the only game in town and bad service will turn people off for a long time. A very long time. Case in point - me - Firestone screwed me over on a set of tires in 1965. I haven't been in a Firestone store since and I haven't bought any of their tires either. Jerks on the phone and non-caring employees will bring you down in no time....
PIP = Process Involvement Project... Six Sigma = training methods and certifications dealing with quality and process. This is dorky as all hell, but I'm a Six Sigma Black Belt. Basically, this means I worked in a two-year dedicated technical application position within a business unit responsible for executing his or her PIP and realizing the targeted benefits. All of that means nothing in the real world really... Just means I could work for GE.

[/ QUOTE ] no kidding on the dorky part- Standardization is great to an extent (look at what it did for screws)but ISO and 6 sigma are a little much here is a cool article about standardization- http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/10.01/standards_pr.html
Haha thats the first time I've read 'Corporate Speak' on the HAMB and it came from Ryan. I loath corporate speak but its good for the wallet 1lowdelivery: Do search on all posts for "Moon" and you will find tons of info with issues people have had. -Dane
Ryan, try and implement some of your BB Sic Sigma tactics here! We are "supposed" to be under Sic Sigma Marshal Law here, and it's not so bad...
