Well, after going to the roadster show I got to see some cool things. My idea of widening the frame Is going out the window. It was a 27 on an "A" frame and it looked great. It was built "traditional" and IMHO looked like what I was looking for. Im going to lower mine a bit, but the pict below is what im going after. BTW: he was asking $13.5k for this ride...WOW!!!
Here is a pict of the frame, I was mocking up the front spring. I had a question thou, it has quite a bit of springs in this bunch, has anyone taken any out or must you leave them all in? The frame is basically stripped of all its brackets and rivets. Im going to wait on the crossmember due to fears of the frame springing inward. Im going to start building the front suspension. Parts are on the way from the parts house!!!
Picture of front spring. I am running the front suicide, should I get a reversed eye spring? a large stack of springs there....
Yep, this is the front spring, so going suicide w/ the front end will be okay w/ a reversed eye spring? Is there a special type of spring to get...ie: load size? Thanks again for yer help.!!!
Springs are specified by the center to center dimension when loaded. They are available in several different sizes, check the Posies site for a complete list.
what spring is most commonly used for suicide front ends? reversed eye or stockers....The stock spring I have has like 20 different springs, can I take a few out?
I used that same type spring on the slazzen 36 the great thing about a suicide is that you can make your spring perch at any height look at the smokein 36 his spring perch is about 8 inches tall and it looks killer how he pulled it off
