Isn't Bleed's roadster welded to the frame as well?

I don't have an adjustment there. I would have to cut and weld. I got fairly close eyeballing it but it still is a little bottom heavy right now. (I doubt filling the top and finishing the back window will even it out though.) I can spin it to 90 deg and then it gets a little heavy. I was really scared of going too far the other direction and having it flip when I kicked the supports out.

Maybe I'll add a bar between the top of the B pillars where I can stack weights to even it out? :)

Dude - there's a caster OUTLET store behind the gas station across Chouteau from Harrah's, right off 210!

    FYI. ;)

Very cool - thanks for the update!

Did you make your front crossmember out of tubing? I've been thinking about doing something very similar, or just buying the 'flattened' A crossmember from Riley Automotive.....

'36-'48 Lincoln Zephyrs had unit-body construction very similar to this...simply welded to the frame

Just got finished cutting the tack welds and moving the quarters up. Totally evened out the beltline. It's all clamped in place and the doors are fitted too.

Starting tomorrow I'm going to try to weld a foot (minimum) of sheet metal each evening until it's done. I'm going to have a lot of grinding to do too.

Thanks. I have started welding all of the pie cuts on the doors too. Wow.

Malcom - Yeah, that's just a piece of square tubing with one side cut off and a hole drilled in the middle to locate the spring.

Feeling like this has some momentum again. Pretty cool.

I always wondered on a rotisserie like that how you'd balance the car vertically, so when it rotates it stays balanced?

I know you touched on it a few posts back, but is there a close guideline?

Yup, Chrisman, Reath & Malliards, and others of that era.

Front end is going to be made from two '40 Deluxe hoods.

As far as finding the center of balance I just took an educated guess. I was a bit off as I said before, but should be an easy work around.

I think that you should make a nose for my coupe instead.:D

I just xeroxed an old HRM article on building a pointy nose from 2
'40 hoods...March '55. It might be the 101 car above, but it is not finished in the article.
    Will send.

I agree with you all... even though it's photo -shoped, the way that kevin's coupe looks with a nose on it is dead on... never thought a nosed coupe could potentially look so good! can't wait to see what you come up with Kevin!
