Finally made some progress on the Sedan project.. My last update showed me grinding the motor smooth and having put it in primer. I bought me a paint gun and decided I just needed to step up and give it a try. Last weekend, for the first time in my life, with the help of a friend (with the gun spray settings). I stepped into the paint booth and laid some color. After a week of drying I got up early this morning and mocked up the motor. I have two versions I am working on, the first is my 6x2 set up.. (which is taking more money then I have right now to finish completely like I want to) and my 2x2 set up (currently using a NW speed adapter) that will go on the car when it initially gets on the road

I think I am going to paint the 6x2 intake and have the stromberg 97's chromed.... (was going to chrome the intake also but think that will be to much shine and I really like the look of the painted intake next to the chrome valve covers.)...

Here is my 2x2 set up

And a pic or two of my 6x2 set up (still more detail to come)

So what do you think, would like some suggestions on how to finish off the 6x2 set up...

The spraying turned out really good.
Was Alan guiding you threw it on a headset phone?:D

I gotta start working on my projects soon, its driving me krazy not wrenchin/fabbin on my stuff right now......Shiny

I voted for the 6x2 setup. Keep on throwing money at it because it'll be killer when it's done. The color is awsome aswell. Great work.

Paint the 6x2 intake, chrome the carbs, chrome the linkage, polish the lines.

    Throw the damn hood away.

    Everyone covets my carbs.:D

I don't know who chromed them, according to most who have seen them, they were done a long time ago cuz the chrome is good quality and not the thin **** they do today.

They are spoken for... they are not for sale! Well, at least mine aren't... Moriarty has one (I had 4 but sold him one) I don't know what he's doing with it...:p

The 6x2 set up will eventually go on it, there is no question (unless I find a 4-71 blower). it will just take some time to get it looking like I want it to and I will not install it until then. that is why I put together the 2x2 set up. (I actually have another hi-rise version coming from tardel (the one I was asking so many questions about who make it.. i found it finally )

Gracie, can you post pics of one of your carbs (or all of them), would love to see what they look like. (for comparison).

    thanks for the kind words

Be different...paint the carbs and polish the intake. Six of them painted will stand out better than one big m*** of krome.. Does that make sense?

thanks to everyone for the support.. it took me a long time to piece together what I have so far (first came the intake, then found 6 carbs that looks the same and actually had money at the same time.. then the linkage and fuel log..). now its time to step up and rebuild and detail.. its been a year so far, maybe another 6 months and it will be ready (for next summer) but until then i will run the 2x2 set up

this set up is going on a stock 327 that has had nothing done to it. i spent many hours grinding the block and heads smooth. I hope to drop the motor into the car when I return from my next business trip.. (so about 2 weeks from now).

Would love to see pictures of other HAMBer's stromberg carbs and how you have details (polish, chrome or paint)... to gets on ideas...

Boones, this is one build up I look forward to seeing any progress on. It's gonna be nice. I like the painted manifold on the 2x2 setup, looks good!

Any way you could post an overall pic of the 2x2 setup from the drivers side, maybe a little to the front? I'm drawing this setup for someone and could use the reference!
