Progress is slow but I am trying to take my time and do it right. Ive done most of the work by myself, including chopping the top and all the body work. It has a MII front end and a narrowed 8.5 10 bolt (thanks to "Phat Rat"). I will be running 15x10 slots on the back with Mickey Thompson 30x13.5-15 ET streets. Still searching for the fronts. Planning on a pretty wild small block and auto trans. Its been a great stress relieving project as the economy has left me underemployed for the last couple years and then last Oct my wife was diagnosed with Breast cancer. Thankfully we caught the cancer very early and although she has had to undergo Chemo the future looks good.
Jim.. It looks like you have a great start on the Chevy. We hope your wife's battle with cancer goes well. Keep your head up...
I'm glad to hear your wife is going to pull through. I like the way your project is rolling as well. I especially dig those slots on the back!
Lookin good Jim. Glad someone was able to make use of that rear end. Tell your wife to hang in there and fight the good fight. My wife beat bladder cancer a few years ago
BTTT. Time to add some updated pictures. Good side view and a photoshop of the apple green paint....... Hint Hint
Hey that's a great looking project! Best to you and yours and glad to hear your wife's future looks good!
First Cl*** work and I really like the chop job. Your work really shows how good a craftsman you are. Best of luck Jimbo
A few progress shots. I fabbed up a trans cross member. The decklid had lots of surface rust. I wire brushed it real good then treated it with mastercoat http://www.masterseriescoatings.com/index/products/primer/ it says its great or filling in pits. Will see The engine is a 60 over 350 with 291 double hump 2.02 heads. It should run pretty good. Trans is a Th350. I went with 3.42 gears in the 8.5 10 bolt rear. And... lots of sanding, Rage Gold, more sanding, hammer and dolly, sanding, more Rage Gold... you know the drill! I also installed AVS remote DUAL CLAW STYLE LATCHES http://www.avsontheweb.com/product.php?productid=1943&cat=579&page=1 Very nice product!!! Sorry no install pics.
Trans crossmember looks great. Thanks for bringing us up to speed. Almost dubbed it the "magical mystery machine", or Rupenzel as it was keep locked up and away from public view. Keep it up.
Good to see you are at it again. Been working on my wifes 54 belair body. I like metal work , but am much better with a sewing machine. Jack
Finally got a few weeks to work on the old rust bucket again. Its nice to finally see it on four wheels again!!!
Looks mean as hell. And you're ahead me in finishing. I have never seen ours with fenders or doors yet. Glad your wife is doing ok. Jack
