here´s some update pics of my 27 roadster. Built the motormounts from scratch. It´s nothing special but I hope it looks o.k. I also built the frame by myself. The original A axle was dropped just 1,5 inches.

tried to get that riveted look with small VW bumper bolts, of course it does not hold the weight of the engine it´s just for the looks.

that´s my german 239cui flattie with 59a heads ,Offy intake and two 81 zenith/strombergs from a french ford vedette.

just trial fitted the 36 dash,it´s only a mock up so please don´t look at the
gap. Bought the dashboard from egay here in germany for 12 bucks !!:D
Steering Wheel comes from a 30´s Auto Union car, maybe Wanderer.

I wish I had an aluminium block !:D it´s just silver paint. I was inspired by the Horch ,Audi and Wanderer engines blocks from the 30´s. It matches good with the shiny black heads.
I have a Chevy S-10 5 speed for the flatty.
to alleyoop: Nope it´s not MG or VW. it´s a Wanderer steering Wheel.

    great car !!!
I love the details , hope to see it on the street next year !

  17. That is sweet!
What sort of 'screen you going to run? It would look good with two 30s style semi circle race car windscreens.

@DocWatson: yeah, I was thinking the same. They´re called "Brookland windscreens" but I´m not really sure because I have a kinda Hallock style windshield on my mind (from scratch of course..)
By the way I found an ultrarare Ford emblem for the grillshell ornament.
The german made Fords had these during the 30´s and it says "german made/fabricated". Well ,it matches with my german G29T Block !

Here´s a shot of the bellhousing. You can see the FK letters there ,which means Ford Köln(Cologne). The dizzy sits in the back on the german blocks which confuses some people:D

Your build looks great! I love the '35-'36 dash (I have one in my rod as well) Did you get the chrome waterfall for the center when you bought it? It's gotta be tough to find old parts over there... The engine is killer!

  26. That is going to be a very cool ride. I spent a couple of years in Bamberg many, many moons ago. Never saw a true hot rod like yours on the road the entire time I was there. I was always told the TUV (?) would not allow it. Now, on the HAMB I see that hot rodding is alive and well in Germany and the rest of Europe. Really surprising.

Flatman, I have the waterfall and the V8 ashtray.
Bib, you´re right. The Rod scene in germany in the 80´s and early 90´s was full of graphics, radials,Jag axels and pink and yellow cars .
But now you see more and more traditional or I may say authentic rides all over europe. Not to mention the swedes and the brits, they did the trad thing waaay before we germans started.
The TUV Inspection is cool when it comes to well build rods. If the technical and the safetey issues are good and the car is built perfectley, well at least good, it´s no problem nowadays. But it has to be an original old frame or body. Sure we also have people with rat rods and that´s a little problem here in germany because of the police ! When they stop these cars ,they stop every hot rod on the roads because for the cops these cars are all the same ! What a bummer. But the rat rods mostly are trailered to the shows:D .
Please don´t get me wrong.Don´t wanna offend anybody with rats but in germany we don´t have so many rods so we´re "worried" about our image !
