I just spent the better part of 5 days figuring out and then engineering, and fabricating by the seat of my pants the forward tilting hood on my project '54. Using an old pair of '69 Chevelle hood hinges mounted in revesed. I was amazed when it actually worked as the hood tilted up in the manner which you see before you, not too pretty but not too bad for a hack fabricator. I'll keep you posted. KK
that's cool,i was out at the junkyard looking at late model buick forward tilt stuff, somebody (forgot who) did their metropolitan with those.howzabout some close-ups so i can steal some ideas?
I actually have the hinges from a Buick LeSabre that you're talking about. I was trying to adapt it, but it wouldn't work as well as the way I ended up going. I'd sell it if you're interested. KK
Any chance you could post or PM me some up close photos of those hinges installed? Maybe do a tech-o-matic with step by step description and photos??? I have a friend building a 53 and he'd like to do the same things to his car. Looks awesome so far.
