I scored this Dodge Brothers buisness coupe over the weekend for a sweet deal of $150 including fuel to go get it but the prior owner said the trunk and re 1/4s were to rusted to save and s****ed them out so my plan is to tske what ive got close off the back of the cab leave it factory roof height , channel it 4" , put a fresh 283 with 3 dueces on backed by a built 700r4 and modern gm 10 bolt and power drum brakes on all 4 corners. only going with thoes few modern parts on the car so I can drive it and not spend my kids college fund on gas . Im going to keep this build as traditional as I can even going to keep the heater that came in the car along with rebuilding all the original.gauges I have for the car. My plan for interior is try and get as close as I can to era correct material and pht it back as close as I can to original interior wise. This is my second atempt to build a rod my first build was a 29 chevy 2 door sedan that is still pending parts to finish the body but it might be going up for sale so I can build this dodge brothers coupe

Yeah I contacted the guy and id be all for making the trip from missouri to washington for good parts but he said the carparts are in a budwiser trailer and he isn't willing to pull the parts out of storage to take photos so I can see what he's got and if its any good, he said he put the parts in storage 15 years ago but even the the parts are still close to 80 years old and its a big trip to make for unknown parts. I'm in process of trying to get some freinds up his way to get with him and check out the parts for me id love to make the car original with the trunk and all but if not I've got a plan, also i found this photo on the hambanybody know who he is ? His car is just my style I'm going for and id like to talm to the guy and see if I can getsome build info the internet is kinda dry on any info on this particular car

Hey, Bud. If the parts you are looking for don't materialize, that body would make one *****in extended-cab truck. Close the back, acquire a Model A bed, and with or without fenders, that rod could be really bad***. Just a thought.

Isn't that part of his plan? The ***le says "xcab" pickup and he says,"my plan is to tske what ive got close off the back of the cab"

It will be a "traditional extended cab pickup".

Yes as of rite now since I don't have the *** of the body my plan is to hand build a 4'x4' steel bed mocked off a model T bed then close off the hole in the back of the cab and turn what I have into an xcab truck done in the traditional hot rod style

Forgot to mention I found some info online about the original paint codes this coupe was originaly a ford color green called yosimite green so I'm thinking about doing that as the final color or the cab and either doing the interior in material close to factory or using a green colored indian blanket for material. The top I've decide to re do the wood and close it off like factory but add the twist of making it a removable hard top so I can cruse *******. I'm in process of digging up a 37 ford ibeam axle setup to run on a suicide spring setup but I've also been thinking about 1/4 eliptical springs for this build
