Good stuff... I like to use the model A body to bumper bracket braces... then drill out the rivets... each bracket makes 2 seat anchors...
I also use them, welded to the front of the A's firewall it makes front body mounts like '33-'34 trucks. DSCN2701.JPG DSCN2702.JPG

    Yes Sir,
Thank you for the good words !

That’s one of my my next steps after the tank is installed and plumbing/filler mocked up . After the mounts are made and the seat is in its final location, I’ll know what I have for room.
I plan to use the 1” box tube I used as body bracing and some 18/20 ga to build an accessible bulkhead for the tank.

Looking sweet Mike! I think you found a new trade!! Master fabricator. You are giving me lots of ideas!! lol
I didn't think you could fit a tank back there and still have a seat. Now I know.

  9. The rear seat does look good, on my '30 tudor I used a stock rear seat cut down (from front to back) to make it shorter for the gas tank in the rear. I wish I had done more to make it lower like you did. Maybe next winter I'll redo it.
    Great job.

    Thank you.
With the chop, channel and kicked rear I’m fortunate to have the ability to run a seat period.
I’m just trying to make it all work.

I’m 5’9” have about 1”-1.5” of head room as it sits now.

    I’m getting there.

Arrived home from work today to see my radiator arrived plus a whole bunch of other things.
I wanted to see how things fit so I set the radiator in place.
Without a hood it’s not bad, however with a hood I think it’s going to sit a touch high ... about an inch.
So Looks like something going under the knife.

I had electrical problems with my Tig welder a while back. Eastwood shipped me a new one that showed up yesterday. I was actually hoping for a check ... looks like I’m stuck with this one. Hoping it’s works out.

Hahah. I can just picture you cursing at your keyboard

I’ll take some better pics. Filler is perfect. Tucked low enough and far back enough there shouldn’t be an issue.
It just appeared the shell sat a touch high
    We shall see.

Not till it’s warm and sunny. This frozen tundra sucks ... 70° would be okay.

Spent some time tonight straightening out my bandsaw.
Made a new taller stand from 24” to 32” .. used the old sheetmetal legs as gussets and added wheels, metal catch can, and a handle to move it around ... gave it a quick paint job and it’s good to go.

What a great tool to have.
Naturally I used it to make the stand for it... only seemed fitting.
The precision and (no dust) is the best part.

Scored a whole bunch of ViseGrip and Craftsman hand tools the other day plus some old C clamps... had them soaking in diesel fuel to loosen things up... media blasted them today and sprayed them with a few coats of zinc paint to clean them up.

These were all “scrap metal” according to the woman and I did her a favor by taking them.
I gave her a few bucks ($20) because I felt guilty.

After that I got the grill shell mounted to the radiator.
Made sure the hose kit fit properly and got the support rods cut to length and secured.

    It was a good day

You should feel guilty, you scored well over $200 worth of Dewitt Vice Grips and Craftsman locking pliers not to count the clamps! The Dewitt Vice Grips are worth their weight in gold, almost

Oh well ... shame on me.
I just thought I was lucky cause of st patty’s weekend ! [emoji256]

She didn’t even want the $20 lol.
The scrap guy was coming to take it all for zero. They were all rusted. Most didn’t work ... but they do now !!

It was all I had on me anyways haha... the bad part that’s only some of what I got.
I’ll save the rest for another day.

The Kendall Oil drum is what caught my eye first. [IMG]
The tools were a bonus [emoji16][emoji1360]

I got the whole story from the wife.

He was a dodge mechanic at a local dealership.

He hadn’t used them in a while seeing they were all rusted and not functioning

She had a huge snap on box for sale that was chock full of tools.

I didn’t have the 3G’s on me haha.

This stuff was “scrap metal” as I had mentioned before.
She didn’t care about the rusty tools.

Here’s my official call out huh.
Work has been super busy past few weeks ...(Self employed painter)
Kids keep me pretty busy and life in general but c’mon.
You know I’m out here picking away at things.

TIG Welding 101 has been my focus the past week.
Built myself a torch holder as one of my many ”learning projects “
    [IMG]
Finally getting comfortable enough to start burning metal together on the car.

Been fine tuning my seat mounts and working on the 3rd rendition of my pass seat hinge mounts.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Off topic.
I built myself a new set of ramps for my car trailer.
Mine weren’t readily available to me and I needed my trailer so I spent some time this week building them.
These should hold up well ... however they’re heavy as hell.
I wanted to TIG weld them for practice.
Used a full bottle of argon but it’s worth the $30

I also finished up the rear seat mounts and got the fuel tank mocked up in its final position.
My next big task is to build the bulkhead / firewall for it.

I fine tuned all my floor pans getting everything fitted nice and tight. [IMG]

Picked up a nice set of NOS Kaiser Tail lights on eBay
    [IMG]
Have all the parts for a banjo rebuild for the rear.
That’s heading out soon to get overhauled.

Once that’s complete, I’m going to pull the body off and do some rear suspension changes and get brakes and fuel system plumbed.

Little steps but it’s still moving in the right direction.
