Underside done. Etch primer seam sealer coupla coats of stone guard and a coat of 2k mettalic silver ish stuff....
Engine has had a bit of work: Ported Polished All fully sleeved, Relieved 8BA Crank (gives us rope rear main seal instead of slinger Ground and balanced crank and rods New pistons New Valves guides and heavy duty valve springs Adjustable lifters Magento has been given the ass at this point due to issues so getting electronic Mallory instead for time being. Isky 400Jnr cam Navaro heads and racing manifold New 97 carbs 8BA oil pump (higher flow) Powergen alternator to look like original Genny Hy Torque starter Now the cam caused a few dramas as when we sat the heads on and turned the ol girl over we found that the valves were lifting the heads about 3-4mm not a reall good thing. Had to take the heads back in and machine a bit more relief in em to clear the valves. Also created isssues with spark plugs and too long plugs have the spark gap reduced dramatically with the valves as well...... Just bolts in hey..........
Awesome fabrication work! It's been great watching the progress of your build. Keep the pictures coming.

had a couple of mate around last night to give me a hand (Drinkin) Al did a bit of mixing of the clear and we buzzed back the door and cowl side again and got a coat of clear on it. The brush strokes nearly make it look like Stainless steel...Nearly.... Nearly....
Well have finished the R/H side and rear now working along the left. Got to finish it then sand the clear and apply a couple of more coats. NEVER AGAIN for a bare metal car. Have really enjoyed doing it its just so very slow. You get the lead on file it back to realise you didn't put wuite enough on. So you go back in again to put more on and the whole lot runs onto the floor and you get to start all over again. I must say the feeling of looking at it clear coated with all the little bitas of lead polished up is good. It is not perfect but very neat and dad loves it and its different...... Last lot of lead hopefully in the car.....
Love the RED color on the frame and engine, looking good!! Nice collection of flathead speed stuff too!!
after many many many bloody hours on the body we have given up an got her in clear. the left door still needs adjustment but at least it will stop bloody rusting everytime I look at it. Mt 6 year old and dad/owner of the car put the last of the clear on yesterday. just go the guards an brackets to paint and clear nad just about there. Aiming for rego inspection in MAY...... Arty shot to finish...
finished off the little bits. Off for liscenece plates this TUesday. So say dad's not a little excited is an understatement. Should be able to post pics up on Tuesday of the finished article. then on to the next project................
Couple more photos I took the other day when I went around to get some shots of Ben doing some lead wiping. The car did turn out way nicer than I thought that bunch of southern rednecks could ever turn out. Goes, stops, even turns corners like a real car. Nice job fellas.
