So thinking I already had a build thread started on this car I was going to put up some updates. Come to find out, I don't think I ever did end up posting a build thread. Almost a year later... here it is.

Wanting something different I ended up selling my slammed 50 Cadillac. I knew I wanted an early roadster and was happy to find a turn key one in the classifieds here. I bought this project off of Patrick (mediumriser) and had it shipped to me by none other then the best, Bill from Bill's auto works.

Patrick's build thread can be found here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=441848

This is how I bought it:

Bill loading it up to bring it to me:

My two sons and I cruising it how it was for a while:

My boys and I removing the exhaust:

Replaced the ram horns and exhaust with a wicked set of Lake Headers built by Matt from Gear Drive Speed & Custom:

I then picked up some Stromberg 97's off of BrandonB from here and sent them off to Charlie Price at Vintage Speed so he could put them on an offy manifold and fit it with a progressive linkage. I also picked up a Vertex Magneto that came off of a race boat and had that rebuilt as well in a local shop. Installed all of that.... (dont mind the loose filters mock up) I continued on and took off the chrome alternator and replaced it with a Power Gen:

I also replaced the steering wheel with a 40 Ford wheel and the floor shifter with a B&M unit but I dont have any pictures (will update soon)

    Thanks for looking,

Looks good with the Lake headers. I was torn but money didn't allow it. How is the 3x2 set-up working. That motor run out pretty good? I never had a good carb on it. Hahahaha

Great car. I too own an A with a traditional SBC in it. Best of both worlds IMO.

Yeah motor seems to be holding up good... the tranny cooler in the radiator broke, contaminating both the coolant and the transmission (found it while pulling off the manifold) mounted an external and all seems well.. that damn 4 barrel that was on it was a mess of problems, it had a leaky shaft in it and could never get the vacuum right on it, that when I chucked it for the 3x2.... she runs like a raped ape now (will post a video later) and the combo of the intake setup and the lake headers gives it an incredible sound.

I sent you a PM too, didn't know if you saw it, just had a quick question

I had a feeling that that little 305 would run good with a good carb set-up.

Got some stuff done this week, installed a better shifter, my new knob from Mike at 1954 design company, modified the tranny tunnel around the new shifter, installed a Klaxton ooo-ga horn and a foot switch, and fixed a broken weld.

Thanks bro, I miss you too! I could only pick one car to keep between Bertha and The Mistress so I chose to sell Bertha before coming to Korea.

    Thanks man!
