Well, it's been raining all week here in lovely Flint, MI so today is the first day in about 7 I've had a chance to do something. I'm building a wood mock-up frame (wood= cheap, steel=not so cheap) to figure how and where it will sit. I'm gonna have to unchannel it about 4". Whoever had it before has a half-*** 1" square and c'channel frame arc welded to some evevn more half-*** supports. I imagine this was the basis for the floor. Anyways, it will keep abaout a 5" channel and ride on a long 112" wheelbase. Looked kinda goofy so I made 33" a cardboard bedside and taped 'er on. Looks better and made Jenny happy cuz now we can haul some **** in it. The gas tank will be inside the cab behind the seat in a properly vented enclosure. All that will be seen in the bed is the cossmember (way up high, isn't it?) and a bead-rolled floor w/matching side panels. The front wall of the bed will be right behind the crossmember. What's really cool is I have access to original Model A truck bed sides. I'll use those and cut them to size. A proper tailgate will latch with chains and pins.
I think this thing's gonna be really *****in' when done. I hope I can get a Chevy 6/'Glide combo for it. My last plan for the Jeep 4.0 fell through. Anyways....whadya think?
Oh yeah...gotta make panels to fill those wheelwell openeings...that'll be tuff.

Jdubbya stopped by for few to check it out. He gave me a couple ideas to make stuff work better. It always helps to have an extra pair of eyes to look at stuff.

I finished the mock frame last night. Time to get some steel and get to tackin'! It turned out pretty cool. The rails that are gonna bolt to the rear member actually p*** thru the body befor the kick. Gonna be cool.

Off to work....I got Duece pedals to make.

Sunny and 70* all day today.....then 5:00 rolled around and along came the rain ! Like buckets on my friggin' head!! Worked all day on some cool pedals for an equally cool '32 roadster. Let everone be reminded that Dan Webb not only builds the nicest Street Rods but also the nicest Hot Rods. This one is buggy-sprung, dropped axle, 9", hairpinned and really cool. The best part(s)(besides the pedal ***emblies, of course)? It rolls a 392 stroker Ford small block and a 6 speed Tremec! This thing's gonna rock!! I'm also borrowing some ideas for The Frankie Flyer. So, stay tuned....it's gonna be fun.
