my son and i picked up a barn find '55 chieftain, spent a couple of weeks replacing the head gaskets and rebuilding the brakes. Tonight we went on our first cruise thru town....what a flashback to the 50's for me. Everything on this four door old pontiac is original from the interior to everything under the hood.....has a little surface rust but anything 54 years old is gonna have some. No rust thru anywhere, just surface. The hydromatic tranny shifts like a dream. Just wanted to share the grin on our faces....car show in town this weekend is where we will be, just looking and hoping someone enjoys our nostalga.

glad to see you get your son involved. Nice find. And I am good with it being a four door. beats the hell out of a two door civic anyday.

Looks like a sweet time machine you got there. It's way cool you had your son riding lookout. Kudo's!

  6. That's the way it is supposed to be...father and son working side by side...wrenching on it and takin' their first ride...brings back some fond memories of my Dad and me
