Projects [PROJECT] Laidout53 Part II

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HarborKustomSpeedShop, Oct 11, 2010.

  1. Time for a new frame and link setup on the Dodge. This time im going to make the front crossmember and bag mounts, aswell as Im doing a parallel 4bar and panhard in the rear with bags and hopefully a small cantilever. Going to have sway bars front and rear. This time the running boards will lay out and im going to run 28.5" wide whites (3"). If time permits im going to chop (5") and body work it with some other body mods that I'll mention later when i get there, including custom inner fenders. Also will be doing a full interior. Hope to paint it Navy blue with a medium dark red interior, and flake the motor/trans medium red as well, as long as time permits...

Anyways heres the pictures of the tear down.

Steel for the frame...( three 10' sticks of 2x4 and two 10' sticks of 2x6)

  4. Well i had to move the rear section of the frame up, aswell as i got the rear tube notched for the exhaust tips to go under. Got the frame squared and picked up the steel for the A-arm crossmember(3x4x3/16). Next is some temp frame bracing and them on to finishing up the front frame horns.

    heres the pictures...

  12. I'm not feeling the original green color, I think the navy blue and red interior will will give it a classy 50's look that im hoping to achieve. however i'm am open to suggestions.

nice job.... if would have gone with a 2x4 frame you would had a 2" factory body drop/channeling. body drop is what the mini truckers call it.

Looks fantastic, you have mad skills! Just 1 question: did you reinforce all those miters at the rear section with internal plating or something? Keep posting pix, this looks real interesting!

Looks real good, but I have a question, if that's a Mustang front end aren't the upper arms supposed to mount with the bolts facing up? Seem like there is no adjustment the way it is.

I know that's how mine is, just curious.

    Nice work, real nice.
