Just subscribed, in the planning stages of my 53' pilothouse build.

This build is a huge motivation. Since I don't have fabrication skills worthy to be on the same planet as yours I think Im going to use a sid's dropped axle in the front and a sping under with c-notching the frame in the rear to get her low where she belongs.

Anyway keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.

Awesome build. I loved the first incarnation of the truck a few years ago and even more now. Great inspiration for my 52 1.5 ton.

  13. Thanks Lunacy..

No progress, will be back on it soon...

  14. OK, big update!

Im happy with the chop but i didnt like the front window. still looked to big and aslo wanted to take some of the crown out of the roof, so i lowered the frame work an 1/2". Then i removed the seems on the A pillers. Fixed the drivers side corner and door jam area. Recently bought a TIG welder so what better time to learn than now. then on to filling the gap between the roof sections, need to redo it cause i got to big of gaps but it will have good flow. Then i tried to fix more of the driver side roof but i decide to just make a new section.

    Any ways heres the pictures!!

  17. Thanks hammeredrods

Bud, Thanks for sending those hinges to me, but the pins were rusted in them so i just fixed mine. Worked pretty good when i took the door off and use BFH and hit them Lol. Where'd you move to? If your ever in the area hit me up and you can come check it out..

  18. Justin. I moved to Othello, Washington. Let me know if you are ever in the area. I got lots of room for visitors. I will be putting a 30 x 40 x12 shop up by spring if everything works out. Bud
