Well, the right opportunity came, and cornbinder52 and I struck a deal. He wanted a running cruiser, and I have always wanted a 50s GM. Well, the opportunity was right, and loaded up the Cadillac to head down to Central/Southern IL to make a deal.

Now to why the name? I always like referencing something unique about the car. The old licence plate from an old owner said "Log-Dog". I just find it unique and ftting. It is an old dog, and a big old log of a car!

Here are the pics! Some of the beautiful land that surrounds cornbinder.

I'm bummed out. I didn't know the Launching Pad was closed. Somebody needs to save the giant spaceman! P.S. Nice car. Stu

Weel, at this point, it is to get it running first :) He had it running right soon before I got it, but the battery is toast (anyone have a spare 6V layin around?? :p). So that is first. Then the interior needs redoing, new floorboards, and new brakes all around. At some point I will get the lowering kit on there (which he had with the car) which I'll probably do with the brakes since I'll have it apart.

Not going to do any body "stuff" right now, other than clean it up. The patina is super nice. Only problem is at one point there was some damage on the right rear fender, and there is some putty cracking...so someday that will need to be addressed along with some rust on the lower part of the hump where the rocker meets it.

They are clip on pieces. Looks decent for me! Also, the dummy spots are going to need to go (falling apart), and I also need some peep mirrors!

Also, where am I able to get this piece? Or is that all part of the rocker? I do think though the entire quarter will need replacing...which I am having a hard time finding these pieces or a four-door...

Take a hammer and putty knife and knock off those hideous plastic porthole thingies. They look like crap when they're applied straight,.... and when their crooked, they look even worse. JMHO.

Good luck. The car has a lot of potential. Stu

Took it out about an hour after you left. Runs like a dream. I think the radiator might be leaking at the seam between the tank and core, but I got a real good radiator guy in Decatur. Definitely happy with the trade!

Took 'em off last night, didn't even need the hammer and putty knife! Also took off the dummy spots which were starting to compromise the strength of the drip rail, so I think I might turn turn them into some garage wall art, like some sconces or somethin'. Hoping for a big sale at work today so I can get some cash into 'er and get movin! Next step is to hear her run. Got a guy with a battery I am picking up tomorrow, and then once I hear it run, onto the interior!

Thanks Stu! I think I am going to even go pick up a cheap can of that Krylon Metal flake, and have some fun with those spots. I'll be sure to post some pics once I get to that point!

It 82 degrees here in Chi-town today, and I already lost some sales opps at work. Looks like I need to get home and in the garage after work for some therapy!! :D

I think I might have sounded confusing. I have the lower gravel guard, but where the screw holes are meant to go in it is rusty, and was hoping to find where I can get a patch for that piece, and eventually the whole quarter. But Lowkat, who works at chevofthe40s.com said there is not a piece they offer for a 4 door quarter patch. Looks like I am in for learning some metal work (eventually!)

Just a couple more pics from tonight. Some of my garage space which I am really beginng to love more and more despite it being a bit small. A fun place to chill.

My "Kustom" (haha!) music player used for tunes. Works perfect! And lets not forget what it is sitting on top of, the ever neccesary beer fridge!
