    Hi Guys & Gals.
I am planning/building a 65 Satellite with the intentions of making it as period correct drag car for 1965. I have a 440 and Hilborn that I will mate together. The Hilborn will be converted to EFI after some research. I know that is not period but I'd like to drive it. The body will be stock/restored with a S/S scoop. I may have the car lettered but I am afraid I might tire of the "lettered look". A full interior with a tach a couple other guages, keeping it simple. Another thought is to install a chromed roll bar simlar to the 64 Dodge Chargers race cars. Hard decision since I really like the open hardtop look. Radir Tri Ribs and Cheater Slicks are definately in the plan. I am not sure what class it would fit into during that time period since I am not planning on an altered wheel base nor do I plan on gutting it (maybe the next project). B/FX maybe? Most importantly, I am not sure about the tire sizes and rim widiths I should use. I'd like to use 15" Radirs. I remember seeing pictures of narrow white walls on some drag cars. My guess those were recaps? I thought that was cool because it was different. Love the pie crust look. I do not want to mix bias and radials. So any tire size and rim width suggestions would be really, really helpful because I only want to buy them once...
    Thanks:D

Check out hurstracingtires.com . Adam has some fine tires and the correct ones for your car. We just got some pie crusts for the '63 Max wedge Belvedere. If I knew how to post pics I would. Oh and be sure to get Blackwalls and not Whitewalls. Very few if any SS cars ran Whitewalls.

In '65, 10" wide was the max available in FX. Most of the cars ran an 8" wide rear wheel. It was a bit later they started running a 10" wheel with a 12" tire.
